The Tottenham defender found the net twice as Tottenham extended their unbeaten run in away games in the Premier League and delivered Everton their first defeat at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton were undefeated in their last five matches at their new ground at the dockside location, having left their historic home behind after 133 years at the end of last season.

But Tottenham's leader the Dutchman pounced twice from corners in the first half to place their impressive record at jeopardy, and they were failed to mount a comeback before Pape Matar Sarr - assisted by ex-Everton forward Richarlison - headed home a final goal to put the game to bed.

The Everton defender believed he had equalized the tally five minutes after the defender's first goal, directing a bullet header past the Spurs keeper from an Everton corner.

The win moves the manager's side into third place in the division, five points off north London rivals and leaders the Gunners.

Everton remain in 14th position and sit six points ahead of the relegation zone.

Spurs breakdown: Van de Ven fulfils role at both ends of the field

Following a uninspiring midweek display in the Champions League against the French side, where they mustered a mere two shots on target, Frank opted for Randal Kolo Muani up front instead of former Toffees player the Brazilian.

Everton's recent stadium had been a happy hunting ground, but it appears the novelty may have worn off slightly and supporters headed to the gates after the midfielder's final goal for Spurs.

The break in Everton's unbeaten home run won't be a massive worry for David Moyes, but their attacking woes are.

The forward and the other striker - the Everton's pair of established strikers - had netted just one league goal combined before Sunday's match.
