It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to possess a record if not provided the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it was a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive nature take over and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from there Healy was on her way.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

By the time she was out Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the belief to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the last Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have pushed back plans to retire, this World Cup is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as leader.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
